Weedstock

Weedstock 2022

Friday: Opening night

Day 2:

I came across a display of handmade signs arranged in a display while diving through backroad wetlands on my way to Weedstock. I curiously pulled over to read what it said and enjoy the view. Delaware has always had a strong local agriculture economy and for many “below the canal” saving local farms from exploitation and overdevelopment is an important and personal topic for them. #farmsfeed

Delaware’s 2,500 farms account for 39 percent of all land in Delaware.

It’s easy to find yourself on farmland when in Delaware. Even I fell into being a chicken and cherry tomato farmer for a short period of time in 2020. – So no surprise that when I did arrive at Weedstock I came across some more signs that point to Delaware Agricultural Land preservation. Next to this sign it should of also not been a surprise that I would find…

a US ARMY tank!

I was a bit confused to see the tank.. but also I don’t put anything past Delaware. This is a weird place where events and themes coexist, not for better or worse, just because it is so.

The confusion about the military’s tanks was short lived as I walked inside the now lit festival and saw a booth next to a miltary hanger
